Microsoft has released a new update to its OneDrive app for iPhone and iPad that, among other things, adds new integration with the company's Office for iPad apps.
The new 4.2 version of OneDrive will now allow users to open up any Word, PowerPoint or Excel documents stored in their account directly on their Office for iPad apps if they have them installed. If not, the documents can also be opened on the older Office Mobile apps for iOS.
In addition, the OneDrive app now allows photos to be uploaded to an account in the background for the first time and uploads as a whole should be more reliable with fewer notifications. Finally, there are some unnamed bug fixes and improvements in this new version.
Earlier this week, Microsoft increase the amount of free storage space for all OneDrive users to 15GB and also boosted the space to 1TB for any Office 365 subscribers.
What do you think of this update and do you like the fact that Office documents stored on OneDrive can now be opened in Office for iPad?
