Apple today announced that it is rolling out iOS 8 to public starting September 17, two days ahead of the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus launch. Apple unveiled iOS 8 earlier this year at WWDC with significant changes to the underlying OS, including a new Health app, a new HealthKit API, new HomeKit API, support for third-party keyboards and more.
iOS 8 will ship with the iPhone 6 and will support legacy devices such as the iPhone 4s/5/5s/5c, the iPod touch 5th generation and the iPad 2, iPad with Retina display, iPad Air, iPad mini and iPad mini with Retina display.
