Angela Ahrendts has been on the cards to join Apple for almost half a year, but the time has come for the former Burberry CEO to join the tech giant. Ahrendts will be taking up the role of SVP of retail and online stores, reporting directly to Tim Cook. The Apple CEO recently revealed in an earnings call that Ahrendts would be joining the company this week and now we're seeing signs that the new hiring has moved to Cupertino.
The new SVP has her own biography hosted on the Apple website and is listed alongside other executives. Angela Ahrendts graduated with an undergraduate degree in Merchandising and Marketing from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. After graduating she worked her way through various fashion companies. In 1998 she joined Fifth & Pacific Companies as a vice president.
Now it's time for technology and wearable gadgets. It will be interesting to see what Ahrendts brings to Apple.
