Whenever you want to configure clocks, playback music, or the way you view photos, you’ll download a separate application for each purpose. But what if you could perform all this functions with a single application?

Picmatic is an iOS app that does exactly that – it has all the above-mentioned features in a single package that seems logical.

Just like an iPad displays photos in a slideshow on its lock screen, Picmatic has a dynamic and customizable grid including images imported from the camera roll. Apart from that, the app also features a plethora of filers that can be applied to an image.

The app works in full screen mode and also brings a clock for the user’s convenience; it does all this while a track is played in the background from your music library. Most of the app works with gesture based controls to avoid the clutter that conventional controls for playback music may have caused.

How to use Picmatic for iOS

Picmatic will work in landscape mode on iPhone. After you install it, the app selects 8 images randomly from the photos app, and uses them to fill the grid, as well as swap each photo in the collage with a new one after some seconds.

If you do not like the layout or the choice of images, use the gear icon on the bottom right to head over to the app’s settings, where you will get to see the albums to be used as sources for images. You can also decide whether to fill the grid in a particular order, or randomly.

There are two different clocks available in Picmatic. The smaller one is there by default at the top. But you can switch to the bigger version of the clock from the settings menu – it is superimposed on the college. The clock can also be turned completely off from settings.

Picmatic also offers useful options for tweaking the collage. You can select a different collage layout, and apply filters from the options available. A filter can be applied to a complete collage, rather than separate photos. You can get more filters with an in-app purchase of $1.99.

You can also add music to the app’s music player with the note icon; both individual tracks and playlists can be played. By tapping twice on the screen, you can pause playback as well as start it.

Picmatic offers a great way to control music, keep track of time and show off photos all through a single app. The collages you make can also be shared on Twitter and Facebook.
