There are several apps that let you create to-do and other kinds of lists on your iPhone.
However, many of them don’t provide solicited sharing options.
Silo is an iPhone app that lets you create lists and is a task manager too. It keeps your life moving by letting you share projects with co-workers, grocery lists with your family and a lot more.
How to use Silo for iPhone
After downloading and installing this app on your phone, drag the catalog of your lists down to create a new one and type out a title for your list. Then tap and press the list title to edit it, or perform the same action on the empty area on the right of the list title to move it around or reorder. Swiping rightwards will let you delete a list.
A single tap is needed to open a list. Dragging down on the list’s contents lets you create a new item or a new to-do. Tap whatever you need remembering; the app even lets you add a hashtag to sort the to-dos later.
For example, you can create a #laundary tag for your household to-dos within lists, so you can always be on top of things. Tapping and holding a task will let you edit it, and holding to the right will let you reorder. Swiping rightwards will let you delete it.
Now time for the most productive feature of Silo – list sharing. In the main list view, swiping towards the left will let you invite users to collaborate on your lists. Friends can be added to the list and things can be checked off, as well. The invited users don’t have to own an iPhone, as they can access Silo directly from the web. You also get to pick out which list is currently shared by seeing the little team icon in the main view.
There are also some settings; you can for example decide how you want a task to be completed; by tapping anywhere or just on the little radio button. Likewise, you can turn off sounds that play everytime you tap somewhere within the app. And lastly, you can set a default browser and toggle notifications for shared lists.
Final thoughts
Don’t be surprised if you get fond of this matrix of to-do app and task manager. It’s a great way to collaborate, receive input of others, while syncing and managing your lists on the go.
You can download Silo from the App Store for $1.99. It works on iOS 7.0 and above. Let us know if you give it a go by leaving comments.
