A lot of smartphone users type fast these days, but there’s no replacement for typing an entire sentence with a single tap. Imagine of such functionality is on your phone and you can quickly answer questions such as when does the class start or where to go for lunch.
My Phrases Keyboard for iOS 8 is an app that’s meant for that purpose. It lets you send canned replies by a single tap instead or writing a full-fledged message. Along with text, the app also gives you the ability to craft messages with emoji, and users can arrange the layout of phrases on the keyboard.
How to use My Phrases Keyboard
After you download the app, you have 30 phrases to select. Most of these are one-sentences, such as ‘I’m running late’ or ‘Be right there’. But users do get some premade templates with generic information that can be customized. For example, it is possible to change a URL link or personalize the premade address.
Users can delete or rearrange phrases. For example, if you don’t think you’ll be ever using the phrase ‘Be right there’, you can tap on the phrase to remove it from the list. The editing function will appear at the top of the screen, from where you can select ‘Delete’. To move a phrase, tap and hold one until all start to wiggle, before dragging a phrase to its new location.
Before sending, you can completely customize the phrases. If you want to send a secret message to your loved one during commute hours, you can include that phrase in the list, with a personal message, and accompany it with an emoji. Write anything you want after tapping ‘Add a phrase’.
There is no limit to the amount of custom phrases that can be added to the list and they can be organized by the order you think you’re going to use them in. Allow full access or the custom phrases won’t be present in the default keyboard.
Final thoughts
This app will give you more power to reply to people right away instead of making excuses to type out a message. It’s like a super clipboard that you can access from anywhere and at any time.
You can download My Phrases Keyboard for iOS 8 free of cost from the App Store. Let us know if you give it a try and feel free to leave comments.
