Jailbreaking is always something we are interested in. We love reading about the possibilities and looking at the kinds of tihngs that it makes possible. The doors that jailbreaking opens are often far beyond the idea of simply being able to skin an iOS device. We are big fans of iOS here but we do know that for many, the ultimate goal for many who jailbreak is to run Google's Android system on it just for the sake of it. Being able to run Android on hardware like that offered by Apple is a great bonus and it looks like this could be very possible.
Running Android on an Apple device isn't a new thing and it has been done before. Pre-Apple A4 devices were hacked to run Android but what if you would like to do this on something more recent? Yep it is possible and hacker Winocm posted a video on Twitter showing him dual-booting an iPad 2 with both iOS 5 and iOS 6 and then later triple booting iOS 5, iOS 6 and iOS 7 all on the same iPad. This may not seem like much when trying to get Android to run on such this A5 processor device, but there is more to it.
Hacker iH8sn0w revealed on his Twitter account that the way Winocm managed to work his magic could indeed open the door to an Android port in the future. It turns out, that Winocm achieved what he did by “bootstrappingn to iBoot from the Kernal (userland)”, which both of these hackers agree means that there is now hope for getting Android to run on Apple A5 powered devices. We have to keep an eye on things to see what happens in the future but in the meantime, you can watch the video below.
