Links have just been released for iOS 8.3 beta 2. This is exactly two weeks after releasing beta 1 of iOS 8.3 and we are delighted to bring you details of what is new in this post. Apple seem to be very busy in their software development department of late with plenty of updates being released with some amazing features being added each time.
A lot of people were surprised when iOS 8.3 beta arrived two weeks ago especially given that iOS 8.2 is also currently being prepared for public consumption. It is a bit of an unusual step by Apple and rumors suggest that iOS 8.4 will hit the public market before iOS 9 arrives later this year. The traditional cycle of software development and release has definitely been sped up this time around. As part of the ongoing process, iOS 8.3 beta 2 has now been released and is available for download if you are a registered developer with Apple.
As we already mentioned when beta 1 was released, iOS 8.3 has some great new features including Wireless CarPlay. CarPlay was first introduced over a year ago with iOS 7.1 and its roll-out has been a gradual process. With iOS 8.3 CarPlay will offer a wireless solution allowing users to do away with their Lightning cables.
The iCloud Photo library is no longer in beta. There is also a new emoji picker that ties in nicely with code found in OS X 10.10.3, suggesting that custom emoji characters could eventually be a thing. CloudKit and iCloud Drive have seen some improvements and Apple Pay Support for the Chinese market has also been introduced with iOS 8.3.
This second beta of iOS 8.3 includes bug fixes and minor adjustments to all the new features that are coming with the official release of this firmware. If you are a paying developer, you can install iOS 8.3 beta 2 via Software Update in Settings > General. As a developer you will probably want to grab this update more so than iOS 8.2 beta 5 which will not see any further improvements as iOS 8.2 will release sometime in March.
If you do test out this new beta and you find anything interesting, be sure to drop by and let us know in the comments below.
