Apple TV 4 Features Siri And Support For Game Controllers

Apple’s big media event is scheduled to take place on the 9th of September. This event will feature the much anticipated new iPhone models as well as a brand new Apple TV. The new Apple TV refresh is something that a lot of people are looking forward to and in this post we bring you all the details of what you can expect.

The main reason that the Apple TV is getting so much attention this time round is that the refresh is set to bring a whole new interface as well as an App Store and deep Siri integration. That is according to leaks and reports that we have read. It seems that Apple is about to unleash something much better than the Apple TV models that we are currently using. According to 9to5Mac, gaming is set to be one of the key features of the new Apple TV 4.

With this new move and Apple TV refresh, it looks Apple is going to try and capture the home video gaming market. Apple has included the App Store as well as a motion-sensitive remote that gamers will love. The App Store has already provided a huge gaming platform for the iPad and iPhone, and it looks likely that the Apple TV will join in this with support for third-party Bluetooth game controllers. This will make sure that games that require proper gaming controls are catered. The ability to play games on a large TV screen could be just the thing to turn the Apple TV into the must have home device.

The report from 9to5Mac also says that the new motion-sensitive remote will communicate with the Apple TV via Bluetooth instead of IR, which will make the way it interacts with the UI very different from the experience Wii’s controllers provide. How this will work, we don’t quite know yet, but we are excited at the prospect and can’t wait to test it out.

Another big feature for the new Apple TV is going to be Siri and it looks like the digital assistant is going to be able to do almost anything a user may require. Okay so it won’t be able to make you a coffee, but for everything else, this will be great. Apple really isn’t doing anything that hasn’t already been done by Microsoft with their voice-controlled Xbox One and Kinect accessory.

For those who wish to know more about the brand new Apple TV 4, it is set to be announced at the Apple event on the 9th of September, and this new powerful set-top box should be on sale some time during October. It is suggested that it will retail for under $200 but the price has yet to be confirmed. Personally we can’t wait to see what Apple has in store with this little box and we can’t wait to try it out too. What about you, do you think the new Apple TV 4 will be something on your wish list?
