The iPhone and iPad Blog by Simon

There are several apps that let you edit new and existing photos as well as share them over social media and other platforms, but if you’re specifically looking just to apply a few masks and crop images, an app exclusively made for the purpose may be a better option.

ClipCrop is an app that brings simplicity, several masks and different sharing options. Basically the app allows you to crop photos in different shapes courtesy of its masking tool and it also offers direct support to Instagram and other applications.

How to Use ClipCrop for iOS

Once you download and load the application on your device, it straight away welcomes you to its functionality, without requiring any account sign ups or presenting tutorials. You can directly import a photo from your image library.

Once an image has been loaded to the app, its size can be adjusted through dragging or through one of the many frames available within by default. The ‘auto-fit’ toggle that hovers on the screen will let you configure the image to fill the entire screen.

The bottom bar present in the interface will let you select a pre-defined frame for the image. The categories of different frames are represented by icons, and if a frame that features some blank space at the edges is selected, you can also choose one of the colors available or utilize an RGB slider to fill that area.

The second icon in the top bar can be used to crop an image to a mask, some of which are available for free while the paid ones cost a $1.99 in-app purchase. Inside the mask, you can manually drag around the image to adjust it.

The images can directly be shared on Instagram and there is also support for other apps like Twitter and Facebook. Sharing can also be done on email, and you can also use the open in button to see if the defined app is supported by ClipCrop.

Final Thoughts

ClipCrop is a good option if you want to get to cropping quickly without being lost in a plethora of editing tools. The app lets you work on cropping in peace and doesn’t even bother you with any advertisements.

You can download ClipCrop for free from the App Store. The app has been optimized for devices running iOS 7.0 and above. Do share your experiences if you give it a try
