The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Apple has appointed Ian Rogers, the head of Beats' subscription-music service, to run iTunes Radio. Three executives from Beats -- Rogers, Dr. Dre, and Jimmy Iovine -- joined Apple as part of the company's purchase of the music service and headphone manufacturer. Apple formally welcomed Beats to the family today with the launch of a welcome page for the company.
Rogers will reportedly continue to run the Beats Music subscription services in addition to his new duties with iTunes Radio. This news comes on the heels of the European Union's formal approval of the merger.
