Apple announced that over 85 billion apps were downloaded from the App Store, up from 60 billion a year ago. Alongside an increased consumption in apps, Apple also announced record sales of iPhone models during its latest fiscal quarter.
In addition to growing app download numbers year-over-year, Apple also said that revenue generated from the App Store also increased by 36 percent compared to last year. All of this is largely supported by a 22 percent increase in the number of registered app developers.
