Walgreens reported to allow iPhone 6 customers to tap and pay in stores on Oct. 18 with Apple Pay

A leaked internal memo from drugstore chain Walgreens suggests that the retailer is aiming for an October 18th launch of Apple Pay, allowing iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus customers to use the contact-less NFC payment system inside stores to pay for goods. At this time, neither Walgreens nor Apple has given a specific launch date for Apple Pay.

The leaked memo says that Apple Pay will work when customers tap their devices to the credit card reader terminals in the upper portion of the PIN pad.

It's unclear when Apple Pay will launch for other announced partners, like McDonald's, Macy's, Panera Bread, and more.
