Dual-Core 1GB RAM iPhone 6 Beats Octa-Core 4GB RAM Galaxy Note 5 In Speed Test
Samsung the makers behind the Galaxy Note have created a lot of excitement in users. Those who adore large screen are delighted to see the Galaxy Note 5 being released. The specifications of the Note 5 are really great and enough to make anyone believe that this device would outperform most competing devices especially a 2014 model, such as Apple’s iPhone 6. Well in today’s post we want to show you that raw specs alone will never tell the full story.
Smartphone and hardware fans love testing out competing models and they do this through real-world performance. The launch of any new device ultimately spawns a number of “speed test” videos that measure devices against one another whilst performing common tasks such as multitasking, launching processor intensive apps, and navigating through complex menu structures. YouTube user DroidModderX Root Master has created a video demonstrating how the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 performs against Apple’s iPhone 6 and you can see this video for yourself at the end of the post.
What we already know is that the majority of smartphone users will interact with various apps on a daily bases and it seems logical to start with this action when doing speed tests to see exactly how each device performs when opening, using, and closing apps. In terms of hardware capabilities on paper the Note 5 with 4GB RAM and octa-core processor completely obliterates the iPhone 6 with 1GB of RAM and dual-core processor. Having said that, the video clearly show that Apple’s finely tuned smartphone can hold its own by keeping up with the pace that is being set by the Galaxy Note 5 when opening and loading common apps, and then later actually beating it.
The most interesting part of this test has to be the difference in performance when it came to actually loading a previously launched app for the second time, essentially recalling an app from the background. The iPhone 6 and iOS operating system clearly do a spectacular job of holding previously opened apps in memory and was able to load and display the app instantly. The Galaxy Note 5 on the other hand was really lacking in this area and the actual app had to go through the full boot process again. This shows that when it comes to multitasking, the iPhone 6 is the clear winning.
You really do need to check out the video for yourself to see exactly what we are talking about. The specs show that the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is the better model but when put to the test the Apple iPhone 6 wins time and time again. Take a look and let us know would the outcome of the speed test sway your decision if you were thinking about buying a Galaxy Note 5.

How To Fix iOS 8.4.1 Battery Life Drain Issue
As you are probably aware, Apple rolled out iOS 8.4.1 recently and ever since then the Apple support forums have been inundated with comments and complaints about random battery life drainage problems. In today’s post we are going to look at this issue and give you some nice and easy tips and tricks that will hopefully solve your problem.
If your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch’s battery is draining uber fast after updating to iOS 8.4.1, below are some things that might help you fix the problem.
Hard Reboot Your iOS Device
The very first thing you want to try is hard rebooting your iOS device to see if this fixes the problem. To do this all you have to do is hold down both the Power and Home buttons together till the device powers off completely and then restarts automatically. You need to let go of the buttons once you see the Apple logo appearing on your screen.
Reset All Your Settings
This is another tip that we have heard helps resolve the problem. Doing this will reset all your iOS setting back to factory default, but please note, your data will NOT be erased. To do this all you have to do is launch your Settings app and then go to General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Restore and Do a Clean Install of iOS 8.4.1
If you updated your firmware via OTA this may have caused the problem. It can happen that OTA updates can cause issues. A clean install of iOS 8.4.1 via iTunes can help to fix your problem. To do this you will need to download the iOS 8.4.1 firmware files for your device. Next you will have to plug your device into your computer and launch iTunes. Next hold down the Shift key (Windows) or Option/Alt key (Mac) and then click on the Restore iPhone button. Select the firmware file you want to use to initiate the Restore process.
Downgrade to iOS 8.4
If nothing else works, the last resort is to downgrade to iOS 8.4 and see if that fixes your battery drain problem. Fortunately, iOS 8.4 is still being signed by Apple, which means you can still downgrade at the moment.
Apple Support
If you have done everything listed here and you still have battery drain problems you might want to ask the experts. It would be advisable to book an appointment at Apple’s Genius Bar as your problem might be hardware related and the Apple engineers will be able to take a look and see.
If we have missed anything in our list of tricks or you know of another method that has worked for you, please share it in the comments section below. You never know, your tip could be the answer one of our readers has been searching for.

Release Date for iPhone 6s, 6s Plus And iOS 9 Revealed
Today we bring information all the way from Germany, Macerkopf.de to be precise, that is reporting that carriers are preparing to release the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus on the 18th of September. In relation to iOS 9, the same report claims that Apple will launch the next major version of iOS on Wednesday the 16th of September, which his just two days before the new iPhones are set to hit stores. If we look back to last year, iOS 8 was released on the 17th of September, so both dates are fairly similar.
Earlier this month, BuzzFeed ran a report that indicated that Apple is planning to hold its annual fall event on the 9th of September. This is where they usually launch their new iPhones and new OS. Last year this event fell on the 9th of September and Apple announced the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. After this pre-orders were accepted from the 12th of September followed by the release of the new iPhone models on the 18th of September. If the leaks we are reading and the reports from Germany are anything to go by, it looks like Apple is going to follow the same release pattern as last year for this year’s new generation iPhone models.
The new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are expected to launch with Force Touch Display technology, faster A9 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 12MP rear camera with 4K video recording capabilities and a 5MP front camera for improved selfies. This year’s iPhones are expected to be packed in a slightly thicker shell from last year to accommodate the Force Touch technology and to also prevent another incident of Bendgate from occurring.
There have been a lot of reports doing the rounds, as is usual for this time of the year, and one report that we read has indicated that Apple’s 2015 iPhones will also feature new SiP (system in package) architecture instead of the traditional PCB (printed circuit board) design. We don’t know if this is true or not but one way or the other, we will be finding out very soon. Are you getting excited for the new iPhone? Are you planning on purchasing the iPhone 6s or the 6s Plus? Be sure to let us know in the comments along with your favorite feature.

Leaked Logs For Next Gen Models Don’t Show The Speculated iPhone 6
If we are to believe everything we hear, we know that Apple will be releasing two new iPhone models next month. We believe that these will be the iPhone 6s and the 6s Plus. There has also been a number of rumors suggesting that an iPhone 6c would also be making an appearance for the budget conscious customer. This rumors hasn’t been quashed by Apple as yet, but a number of entries in a set of developer logs have given the clearest indication to date that the iPhone 6c is but a rumor and actually doesn’t exist.
Mobile marketing company Fiksu has reported that two new iPhones have appearance on their data logs, containing the iPhone 8,1 and iPhone 8,2 identifiers. Apple’s current iPhone 6 models carry the iPhone 7,2 and iPhone 7,1 identifiers. This makes is natural for Fiksu and anyone reading the web traffic logs to assume that these two new identifiers relate to the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus devices which are due for a September launch. What we have found interesting, is that there is no third identifier so the rumors of an iPhone 6c really do seem highly unlikely at this point.
The data that is contained within these web logs also shows that the two new iPhones interact with a number of popular apps available in the App Store across a wide range of categories. It is also very interesting to note that the majority of the traffic is coming from the United States where Apple are probably testing this new device. These logs don’t officially prove anything but they do add a little more excitement to what we can expect next month.
There are a number of analysts and leak specialists that have in the past been very accurate who are still adamant that Apple will introduce a third device when they bring out the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus. The fact that a third identifier doesn’t show up in the logs doesn’t explicitly mean that another device doesn’t exist, but it does seem very strange that two devices are being tested and the other is nowhere to be seen.
September 9th isn’t very close to arrival now so all the rumors will be put to bed soon enough. What do you think, would you like to see an iPhone 6c being launched or are you happy with the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus? Let us know in the comments below.
