There have been quite a few tweaks that changes how the stock Music App such as BlurredMusicApp that gives you an automatic semi-transparent blurry app background. But that is simply not enough to make it stand out and look a lot better.
On another side on app usage, the major problem for me is that, if you are an iPhone 5s user with TouchID enabled, you will need to put your finger on the sensor, unlock your phone, go into the Music App and choose the song that you want to play and loop. This is quite annoying, but there are some work-arounds like CleverPin but still, you need to slide to unlock the phone.
So today I am going to introduce you to two cool Cydia tweaks that I recently love to solve the concerns I mentioned above.
Pluck 2
If you used the first version of Pluck on iOS 6 then you will probably know what it does. The tweak was developed by ravirajm (@rv1raj) basically allows you to assess your music library, pick and play music from LockScreen, which is free to download on Cydia. Pluck 2 is completely re-written and re-designed for iOS 7, integrates with ControlCenter and allow queuing music too.
Music queuing was somthing similar to saurik’s tweak Cyueue for iOS 5 and 6. But the difference is, the function in Pluck 2 is sort of like creating a temporary playlist with the song that you selected to queue. This is something cool to me that I can pick the list of songs instantly for whatever I want without going through the traditionally procedure when I just want to loop a few songs in a trip, without going back to those I do not want to listen at the moment.
How the tweak works is that it adds a button on LockScreen and/or ControlCenter which you can toggle it in Settings. Simply tap and hold on thr little icon and it will pull up the Music App interface and allow you to pick songs on the fly. You can also choose the color of the icons to fit for your wallpaper or theme.
Overall, this is a really cool tweak for Music App users. Though it has not been working with other third party music players it is still worth checking out. It is now available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $0.99 only.
ColorFlow
ColorFlow is a cool jailbreak tweak that adds colors to your stock Music App and change its theme based on album artwork that the currently playing music has.
As you can see from the screenshots below, ColorFlow completely changed the Now Playing UI to fit in the album artwork all the way including the text color, sliders, background color, progress bar but just not the play-pause and back-forth buttons. It will be cool if they change too.
It has no option to configure and the only way to disable it is to uninstall the tweak, but I don’t know you will after you get used to it.
Just note that it is not compatible with BlurredMusicApp that I mentioned earlier in this review. It is also not compatible with iOS 7.1 so if you jailbreak on 7.1 betas this is not for you. It is now available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for $1.99.
