We can all agree that Instagram is amazing especially if you know the right filters to use to make your images stand out from the rest of the crowd.

While Instagram does have benefits there are things that the app can’t do such as adding a frame to images, adding some text, or making a collage to share with the world. However, all of that is going to change because Instagram has released an all-new app named Layout .



Layout can be easily defined as a collage creating app which provides you with more than eight layouts you can have a lot of fun with. These layouts are definitely part of the charm when it comes to this app. You can add in two images in one layout, while in another you can add four or even nine images at once. While there aren’t any frames, you can make a unique collage by flipping or mirroring the images you put in.

How to use Layout on iPhone

Layout is very easy to use. Simply launch the app on your iPhone and select an image along with one of the many layouts you want to see it in. Just tap the frame to add the photos you like. You can also replace an image anytime you want before saving your final collage.

Not only that you can also edit the size of the frames in your collage. All you need to do is select the frame and drag the handle outward or inward until you have the preferred size. If you look at the bottom of the edit screen you’ll see some buttons meant for replacing, mirroring, and flipping images in the collage.

There’s also a ‘Faces’ tab. This comes in handy when you want to look at all the images that have people in them. It’s a good way to avoid browsing through all the face-less images you don’t want to put in your collage. You can also capture images in Photo Booth. The ‘Recents’ tab will show you up to 30 of your most recent images.

Once you have the perfect collage you can save it on the iPhone camera roll, or export it on Instagram, or you can simply open it on any photo editing app that you like. I like opening my Layout images on Instagram and adding in some awesome filters to make it pop out.

Final thoughts

While there are definitely other apps out there that offer more layouts, the unique thing about Layout is the option to change the size of the frame, which I personally liked.

From my experience Layout is an awesome bargain which will offer a number of options to create wonderful collages to share with everyone.
