Jailbreak iOS 8.3, 8.2, 8.1.3 With Taig 2.0 On iPhone 6 Plus, 6, 5s, iPad, More

We have some amazing news to share today that we know you are going to love as much as we do. It has come totally out of the blue but TaiG 2.0 is here and with it you can now jailbreak iOS 8.3, 8.2 and 8.1.3 on your iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, 5s, 5c, 5, 4s, iPads, and iPod touch. It is currently only available for Windows but it is still fantastic news and news we are so happy to be sharing with you today.

We really weren’t expecting this but we are so delighted it has happened. For those who don’t know, here is the breakdown in the timeline of how this new jailbreak for iOS 8.3 came about.

Jailbreak exploits that were used in previous versions of Pangu, TaiG and PP jailbreak tools for the iPhone, iPad and iPod touch were patched by Apple when they released iOS 8.1.3 back in January of 2015. When Apple released iOS 8.2 they patched even more exploits and these were the ones that were needed to make Pangu8, TaiG and PP jailbreaks work their magic. In March 2015, the TaiG team hosted the Mobile Security Summit in Beijing where they updated everyone on the status of their jailbreak progress. Things were looking very bleak and we weren’t sure if we were ever going to see a jailbreak for iOS 8.1.3 and upwards.

When Apple released iOS 8.3 in April, they patched yet another exploit that was being used by TaiG. Things really seemed very bleak until the release of the first beta of iOS 8.4 back in mid-April. Immediately after its release, i0n1c came out with a video that showed his jailbreak for iOS 8.4 working on an iPhone 6. Things were really starting to look up and we were all getting excited again. Then in May it was reported that Apple was working on a new security system called “Rootless” that would make it very difficult to create a jailbreak for iOS 9.

Right before WWDC, another Chinese team Pangu successfully demoed an iOS 8.3 jailbreak at MOSEC which they were planning to release as soon as Apple rolled out iOS 8.4 to the public. At WWDC earlier this month, Apple released iOS 9 beta 1 and iOS 8.4 beta 4. TaiG maintained that they were concentrating on an iOS 9 jailbreak and has no plans for an iOS 8.3 or 8.4 jailbreak.

Shortly after iOS 9 beta 1 was released Chinese jailbreak team “Keen” along with the help of Pangu were said to be working on a jailbreak for iOS 9. TaiG also claimed they were only working on an iOS 9 jailbreak. You can imagine our surprise when this morning completely out of nowhere, TaiG surprised everyone by releasing TaiG 2.0 for jailbreaking all devices on iOS 8.3, iOS 8.2 and iOS 8.1.3. Support is available for all iOS devices including iPhone 6 plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5, iPad Air 2, iPad Air 1, iPad 4, iPad 3, iPad 2, iPad Mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini 1, and iPod touch 5.
