Apple to host "Hour of Code" at retail stores worldwide in December

Apple on Thursday announced that it will collaborate with Seattle-based Code.org for the second year in a row, hosting the Hour of Code --?designed to introduce the basics of computer programming --?and other events at its retail stores.

The computer company started in 1976 by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak has been named one of the most disruptive ideas in the last 85 years by influential magazine Businessweek, beating out modern-day essentials such as GPS, credit cards, and the modem.

Taiwan's National Communications Commission said on Thursday that it has found 12 of the world's largest mobile phone manufacturers, including Apple, to be in contravention of the country's Personal Information Protection Act which governs the "collection, processing and use of personal information."
