iPhone 5 survives ride on car tire, refuses to die

iphone 5

For all the love the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have been getting -- my 6 Plus is the best smartphone I've ever owned, so I'm right there with you -- the iPhone 5 and 5s are some seriously durable devices. Sure, the touchscreen display is prone to breaking just like any other thin piece of glass, but that's replaceable, and the phone's internals often seem to be able to survive just about anything. For example: Several revolutions on a car tire.

Ignoring the somewhat goofy "iCar" parody voiceover, this test shows just how unstoppable the iPhone 5's design really was. After being superglued in place, the unlucky little device survives multiple trips under the rubber of an Infinity, only to come out the other side with its digital heart still beating. Despite being pressed into the pavement with the weight of full sized vehicle, it shines defiantly through its shattered glass ready to take another round of punishment. Keep on keepin' on, little fella.
