2015 Apple iPod Touch 6, Nano, and Shuffle Have Arrived

Today we saw the release of the brand new 2015 range of iPods from Apple. The last time this device got an update was back in 2012 so today’s announcement is a great surprise. These new editions come just in time for those out there who would like to own an iOS device and see what Apple Music is all about without having to buy and iPhone or iPad. As well as increasing the iPod touch’s specifications, cosmetic changes have also been added to the iPod nano and the iPod shuffle for those on a tighter budget.

The latest iPod touch is now the 6th generation model and it comes with an Apple 64-bit A8 processor which is the same as the iPhone 6. It also comes in five stunning colors; space gray, blue, gold, pink, and silver. The hardware still looks very similar to the previous generation model but the real changes are underneath the hood so as to speak. The iPod touch 6 also features an improved 8 megapixel iSight camera mounted on the rear and comes in 16GB, 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB. The four inch display also features the multi-touch IPS technology. Apple has also included the M8 motion coprocessor into the iPod Touch so you can track activity. Apple Music is also being made available from within the native Music app on the device. Prices will start at $199 for the new iPod touch.

iPod Nano

The new iPod nano is also being made available in five colors and will weigh just 31 grams. It will measure 76.5 x 39.6 x 5.4mm and comes with a 2.5 inch display with multi-touch capabilities. Wireless capabilities for this device include Bluetooth 4.0 and Nike+ support. The iPod nano may not have the access to Apple Music that the iPod touch does but it does come with an integrated FM radio, the ability to watch TV shows and videos on the display, as well as a fantastic DJ style feature that will create a playlist from any of your favorite playing songs. The new iPod nano starts at just $149.

iPod Shuffle

The iPod shuffle has also had some modifications. The new iPod shuffle is available in five colors including gold and comes with approximately 15 hours of continuous battery life. There is also a fantastic VoiceOver support feature that gives instant audible feedback on the artists and songs that are playing and this is available in 29 languages. The iPod shuffle weighs just 12.5 grams and starts at just $49.

All of the new iPod devices are available to order right away from Apple stores around the world both online and in store.
