With the release of iOS 8.4 we have also been treated to the an updated to the amazing TaiG jailbreak software. TaiG v2.3 jailbreak for iOS 8.4 is now available for all those who wish to upgrade to the latest and greatest Apple firmware. With iOS 8.4 you also get Apple Music which is proving to be extremely popular. The TaiG v2.3 jailbreak for iOS 8.4 is available for iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 4s, all iPads and the iPod Touch 5. The first beta of iOS 8.4 was released back in April and later that month, i0n1c became the first person to jailbreak this new firmware. He demonstrated his jailbreak, which probably used different exploits to the ones being used by TaiG, on an iPhone 6 that was running iOS 8.4 beta 1.
At the WWDC this year Apple announced that they would be releasing Apple Music as part of the final version of iOS 8.4 which would be available to the public on the 30th of June. This has come to pass and iOS 8.4 was released with support for Apple Music, Beats 1 and more. TaiG had released a jailbreak for firmwares up to iOS 8.3 the week before iOS 8.4 went public and a lot of people in the jailbreak community were worries that Apple would patch the exploits being used before the final release of iOS 8.4. We are delighted to be able to say that this didn’t actually happen and a mere couple of hours after the public release, iOS 8.4 was jailbroken.
There was some drama to be had and PP jailbreak by 25PP was the first to release the jailbreak for iOS 8.4. TaiG then accused them of stealing the code and releasing the jailbreak based on TaiG’s exploit. An hour after the release of PP jailbreak, TaiG released an updated version of their tool v2.2.0 and later 2.3.0 which would jailbreak iOS 8.4. Like all previous releases of the TaiG jailbreak, TaiG for iOS 8.4 supports all iOS devices including the iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 5s, 5c, 4s, iPad 4/3/2, iPad mini 3/2/1, iPad Air 2/1 and iPod touch 5. The main thing with this jailbreak is that it offers support for iOS 8.4 but it is also backwards compatible which means it will jailbreak iOS 8.1.3, 8.2, and iOS 8.3 too.
