Apple Music is here and it looks like it is going to be really popular. Looking at the figures for the uptake of iOS 8.4 and the estimated number of three-month free trials that have been applied for, it looks like Apple Music is not only here to stay, but it also going to disrupt the music streaming industry. We could very well see a lot of people moving from other streaming services such as Spotify and if you become one of them; it can now be made even easier thanks to a handy little AppleScript app called STAMP. With STAMP you can export your playlists from Spotify and import them into Apple Music. Below you will find out exactly how to do this.
The first thing you need to do is download and install the STAMP app from: stamp.hern.as. If you are doing this from your computer you may have to rick click on the app file and select “open” to bypass security settings for apps downloaded from sources that OS X doesn’t recognize. Alternatively you can head over to System Preferences > Security & Privacy and manually allow apps from untrusted sources to run on your Mac.
You will notice that STAMP comes with two main options. These are importing songs from a provided .CSV file or importing directly from Spotify using existing login credentials. You will need to select the Import songs directly from Spotify option. You will be asked to put in your Spotify login details. STAMP will then begin searching through the provided Spotify account and a new app overlay will provide a list of the content that it was able to pull from Spotify. You will then be able to select the content that you want from the list. All you have to do then is click on the “Parse” button.
You do have to make sure that iTunes is open on your computer and that you are logged in. You also have to make sure that you have created an Apple Music account so that the STAMP app can do all the hard work and adding all your favorite Spotify songs into your Apple Music library.
It is important to note that the free version of STAMP is limited to parsing 10 songs per session. If you want to parse an unlimited number of songs per session, you have to pay $5. If you do use STAMP to add your Spotify playlists to Apple Music please let us know what your experience was like in the comments below.
