Black Friday 2014: Shopping guide for Best Buy, Walmart and other major retailers



Black Friday, the biggest holiday shopping day of the year, is almost upon us. If you are looking to score some Apple hardware at a rare discount price, you won't have to go too far with retailers dropping both online and in store prices on a variety of Apple gear.

Best Buy


Best Buy is the store to visit if you are interested in the new iPad models with the retailer discounting all iPad Air 2 and Mini 3 versions by $100 as part of its big Black Friday sale. Macs, including select MacBook Pro, Retina MacBook Pro MacBook Air, and non Retina iMac models, also are on sale for up to $200 discount. Lastly, the retailer is offering modest discounts on iPods, the Apple TV and other accessories.

Best Buy stores in the US will open at 5 pm. on Thanksgiving Day, November 27 for the first round of Black Friday shopping. The stores will stay open until 1 am. local time and close for the overnight hours. Stores will re-open again at 8 am on Black Friday, November 28. Online Black Friday savings and doorbusters start November 27 at BestBuy.com.


Walmart


Walmart has a wide range of promotions on Apple gear, including the new iPhone 6. While, you are there look for discounts on accessories for your new smartphone or tablet.



Walmart is offering its Black Friday deals for five days, beginning Thursday, November 27. The retailer will kick off its Black Friday deals at 6 pm on Thanksgiving Day, with select products being discounted at different times.off


Target


Target is starting its Black Friday sale with discounts on the iPhone and iPad. Instead of a price drop, the retailer is offering gift cards with each eligible purchase.



Most Target retail stores are slated to open on Thursday, November 27 at 6 pm, but customers should call their local stores to confirm the exact store hours. Customers with a Target REDcard will receive an additional 5% discount all purchases.


Sam's Club


Sam's Club offers some fantastic prices, including an iPhone 6 for a low $99. Unlike Best Buy, which also is taking $100 off the price of the iPhone, the Sam's Club deals does not require you to trade in an older iPhone model. Sams's Club members get first dibs on the sales, so make sure you have a membership and it is up-to-date before the Black Friday sales start.



Sam's Club started its holiday discounts on November 15th with sales on select items. Black Friday sales are available to members only and will begin November 28 at 7am with online deals starting one day earlier on Thursday, November 27.


Staples


Staples favors the iPad in its Black Friday promotion, taking $100 off the iPad Air and up to $20 off iPad mini models. The retailer also is discounting its fitness trackers, iTunes gift cards, and other Apple-related accessories.



Staples is offering its Black Friday deals for an entire week, beginning on Sunday, November 23 and lasting until Friday, November 28.


RadioShack


RadioShack isn't discounting any Apple tablets or phones, but it is lowering its prices on several Apple-related accessories.



RadioShack will open its doors at 8 am on Thursday, November 27.


Toys R Us


Similar to Radio Shack, Toysrus only will discount a limited number of Apple-related items as part of its Black Friday sale.



Toys R Us will open at 5 pm on Thursday, November 27. Sales also will begin online starting 10pm ET on Wednesday, November 26.


hhgregg


hhgregg's sale focuses on the iPad with over $100 off select iPad models. The retailer also is discounting Beats hardware and the Apple TV.



hhgregg will kick off its Black Friday sales starting at 4 pm on Thursday, November 27, with Apple-related deals starting at 7 am on Friday, November 28.


Apple


Apple is offering (PRODUCT)RED iTunes Gift Cards for purchases of select Apple products. The gift card amount varies based on the product being purchased and include the following values:



  • iPhone (iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c) - $50

  • iPad (iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2, iPad mini) - $50

  • Mac (iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Retina iMac, Retina MacBook Pro) - $100

  • iPod (iPod touch, iPod nano) - $25

  • Apple TV - $25

  • Beats by Dr. Dre - $25


Apple's Black Friday promotion begins November 28. Deals will be available at both Apple Retail and Online Stores.
