Here is a new app for iPhone that helps you stay connected to your friends. The apps lets you find the friends around you and broadcast your location to them. You can sign up with an email address or register with your Facebook account.
Here either connects with your friends, and lets you tell them where you are. They'll receive your location in a feed, which helps for scheduling events and get-togethers. Location broadcasting is only done when you actively "Shout" your location to people. If none of your friends are around, you can always widen the search area, or expand to friends of friends.
