There are lots of great photo editing apps available for the iPhone. However, no matter how great they are, you still have to edit in multiple apps at times in order to get the results you want. iOS 8 is aiming to change all that by using the built-in Photos app as a central hub for editing tools across the board. Once you've got apps installed that support photo and video extensions, all you've got to do is enable and start using them!
How to enable photo and video extensions in iOS 8
Photo and video extensions only work if you have apps installed that support them. That means you'll need to have photo and video editing apps installed via the App Store that have extensions added to them. Here are a few that I've found to already support photo extensions in iOS 8:

Once you've got a few that support the feature, you just have to enable them once.
- Launch the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad running iOS 8.
- Tap on the photo or video you'd like to edit.
- Tap on Edit in the top right.
- Tap on the More button in the bottom menu.
- Tap on More one more time.
- Turn On the app extensions you'd like to show up in the more menu from now on. You can also reorder them in the order you'd like them to appear.
- Tap Done in the upper right hand corner and your app extensions are ready to use!
How to access and use photo and video extensions in iOS 8
- Launch the Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Find the photo or video you'd like to edit and open it.
- Tap on Edit in the upper right hand corner.
- Tap on the More button in the bottom navigation.
- Tap on the app name that you'd like to pull filters or edits from.
- Make your edits and tap Done at the top when you're satisfied.
- Repeat steps 4 thru 6 again with other photo editing apps if you'd like.
- Tap Done in the bottom right hand corner when you're finished editing.
That's all there is to it! You can now share your photo however you'd like. As you can see, photo extensions in iOS 8 simply allow developers to bring editing tools into the Photos app so they can work better together. This means you no longer have to perform an edit in one app, save the photo, open it again in yet another app, and save it again. This means you have less photo versions cluttering up your photo library as well. Not only that, since iOS 8 features non-destructive edits, you can always return to the original photo at any time.
