Tim Cook extends Thanksgiving vacation after record September

Tim Cook extends Thanksgiving vacation after record-breaking September

Apple CEO Tim Cook has sent an email around the company thanking everybody for their hard work over the past year. He congratulates the teams at Apple for their work in launching iOS 8, iPhone 6, and iPhone 6 Plus. Cook also says that he is extending the Thanksgiving holiday this year, according to the email, a copy of which found its way to 9to5Mac:

Without you, none of these accomplishments would have been possible. Our people are the soul of our company, and we all need time to refresh and renew. To provide that time, and to recognize all of these achievements — as well as your boundless talent and dedication — I'm happy to announce that we're extending the Thanksgiving holiday this year. We will shut down with pay on November 24, 25 and 26 so our teams can enjoy the whole week off.

Emails like these often make the rounds at Apple following major product launches. Apple announced this week that they had sold over 10 million new iPhones in the first three days of availability, their most successful iPhone launch to date.

What do you think of what you saw from Apple in September? Let us know in the comments.
